THE ROLE OF SCIENTISTS FACING THE ECOLOGICAL CRISIS

From the 7th to the 13th of May, Scientist rebellion will launch an international campaign of civil desobediance against fossil energies under the title « the science is clear ». This is the occasion to question the role of scientists facing the ongoing climate crisis: do we have to remain neutral ? what is our responsibility ? do we have to take position, or do we even need to go further ? I will therefore presents some facts about climate evolution, perspectives and energy transitions. I will then detail a few actions that were undertaken by scientists and question their effectiveness, and finally present the objectives and forthcoming campaign of Scientist rebellion. The science is clear, why are they still ignoring it ?
