FROM INSIGHT-HXMT AND IXPE TO EXTP: OPENING THE MULTI-DIMENSIONAL ERA OF SPECTRAL-TIMING-POLARIMETRY

I will first present the main aspects and scientific highlights of the Insight-HXMT and IXPE missions, emphasising how these missions open up multidimensional analysis of what we call spectral-timing-polarimetry. I will then discuss the main aspects of the spectral-timing-polarimetry eXTP mission and its science case. At the end, some very personal considerations on the near-term future of X-ray astronomy and the role it can play in this era of multi-messenger astronomy, and the exploration of as yet unknown physics.
