Pascal PETIT, laureate of the André Lallemand Prize of the French Academy of Sciences
Pascal PETIT, astronomer at IRAP, receives the André Lallemand prize from the French Academy of Sciences!
The award ceremony took place under the dome of the Institut de France on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Here is the speech given at the ceremony:
Congratulations to Pascal Petit, winner of the André Lallemand Prize! 🎉
We are delighted to celebrate the excellence of Pascal Petit, astronomer at the Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées and researcher at IRAP.
He dedicates his research to the study of stellar magnetism. He studies the temporal evolution of the magnetic fields of different classes of stars under the influence of activity cycles similar to the solar cycle. His models also contribute to improving the detection of extrasolar planets by freeing them from the perturbations caused by the magnetic activity of their host star. ⭐
👏 Bravo to Pascal Petit for this well-deserved award, which highlights a remarkable career in the service of space research and innovation!
