Study of the interstellar matter from diffuse cirrus to dense molecular clouds through dust continuum and molecular emission using satellite and ground-based observations. PI of the PILOT balloon-borne experiment.

  • Le Padellec Arnaud: Lecturer (UPS). Experimentalist in collision physics applied to physical-chemistry. Study of the processes of astrochemical interest (dissociative recombination, electron impact detachment, associative ionisation), clusters (electron capture, excitation, dissociation polarizability measurements, femtosecond chemistry) and other biological molecules (protontherapy, electron spectroscopy and fragmentation). Chariman of the committee on accreditation to supervise research at the university.

  • Walters Adam (PR UPS): Present research interests are interdisciplinary and concern the applications of molecular spectroscopy to astrophysics, in particular in the mm-wave and THz ranges: 1) Evaluation of spectral data available on molecules identified in the Interstellar Medium and their isotopologues ( web page). (2) Measurement of laboratory spectra. (3) Analysis of these spectra. (4) Creation of molecular templates for typical astrophysical objects. (5) Applications to the analysis of large spectral surveys and the study of (i) star-formation and (ii) complex organic molecules (possible link to prebiotic chemistry).
