July 2-8, 2013 : 1st edition of the Physics Summer Camp OCEVU at the Observatoire de Haute-Provence
From July 2 to 8 2013, the labex OCEVU* (Origins, Components and EVolution of the Universe) is organizing the first edition of the "Physics Summer Camp" in partnership with the rectorate of Aix-Marseille. During one week, 26 selected scientific students of the Academy of Aix-Marseille participate in a unique educational initiative on the site of the Observatoire de Haute-Provence (OHP) - OSU Pythéas / CNRS / Aix-Marseille University: a stay devoted to the discovery of fundamental physics dealing with the constitution of matter and the study of the Universe (particle physics, study of the cosmic rays, astrophysics) through the experience. Students will be in direct contact with researchers specialized in these issues and who belong to the six laboratories involved in OCEVU and located in Marseille, Montpellier and Toulouse, including the Centre for Particle Physics of Marseille and the Laboratory of Astrophysics of Marseille. Five high school physics teachers of the Academy also participate in this adventure. More information in the file below:
June 11 - 13, 2013, Toulouse : Yearly Workshop of the OCEVU LabEX
The annual Workshop of the OCEVU LabEx (Origins, Components and EVolution Universe https://www.labex-ocevu.univ-amu.fr/) in which IRAP / GAHEC is a key component hold from 11 to 13 June, 2013 in Toulouse.
After the official launch of OCEVU in July 2012, the first year of the labex was mainly marked by the first call for projects which has initiated the scientific life of the network.
A half day was devoted to the meeting of the three scientific working groups (cosmology, astroparticles and physics of particles) as well as the three groups working on training, technology transfer and communication. Each group then presented the actions for the year 2014 to the entire OCEVU community.
